As the Amazon packages got delivered into my classroom, my students' eyes gravitated towards the boxes and I could see that they peeked their interest. When I then explained to them that generous donors had helped to buy our classroom supplies, they cheered with joy. In fact, they wanted me to do an \"unboxing\" then and there, so I did. They were happy to see they would be rewarded with new snacks and fidget toys for hard work in the classroom and I, as a teacher, was grateful it was something I can encourage them towards earning. I was also very thankful for a new computer mouse and laminator. It has done wonders for me in the classroom to be able to \"middle school proof\" important resources that students can now use for years to come with the laminator. Likewise, my wrist is grateful to have a mouse that can prevent carpal tunnel syndrome in the future!\r\n\r\nNot only did the items provide for my regular classroom students, but club students as well. My Spanish Club and Space Clubs were ecstatic to have different hands-on and fun activities to do. My students competitively played with new games and painted their little hearts away with new crafts. I am appreciative that the students were able to have fun and learn while doing so. As a teacher, it is a win to have students excited to be in the classroom, feel comfortable, and know they are learning things for their future. Some of the donated supplies provided just this as well as other basic—but necessary—materials like wipes, tissue paper, and seat cushions. Items which can often go unnoticed but play a pivotal daily role in the classroom. In the end, all donated materials played a huge part in improving this middle school classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1733193908648,"projectUrl":"project/mrs-carranzas-middle-school-essentials/8814166/","projectTitle":"Mrs. Carranza’s Middle School Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Carranza-Arango","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9774065"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_31787","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1636,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":28,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":36,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":47,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":85.3,"schoolId":31787,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Santa Rosa Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Santa Rosa Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/menifee-union-school-district/santa-rosa-academy/31787"}
