Because of you, my students now have access to real, hands-on tools that allow them to design, build, and create in meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nWe are using the ChompSaws for our Makerspace projects where students move from planning and measuring to safely cutting materials and constructing their own designs. One of our favorite moments so far was during a marble run challenge. Students sketched their designs, measured their wood pieces, and carefully used the ChompSaws to cut materials to size. When the marble successfully traveled through the entire run, the room erupted with excitement—not just because it worked, but because the students had built it themselves. These tools have transformed abstract ideas into real, tangible learning experiences.\r\n\r\nWhen the ChompSaws first arrived, students were thrilled. Many couldn't believe they were trusted with real tools designed just for them. As they learned proper safety procedures and practiced using the saws, their confidence grew quickly. Students began to see themselves as engineers, problem-solvers, and creators. The sense of pride on their faces was incredible.\r\n\r\nNext, students will use the ChompSaws in longer, more complex design challenges that include planning, building, testing, and revising. Upcoming projects include creating structures that can support weight, designing simple machines, and working collaboratively on group builds that require precision and teamwork. Students will also reflect on their process, discussing what worked, what didn't, and how they improved their designs. These experiences are helping them develop critical thinking, perseverance, and confidence that will stay with them long after the project ends.\r\n\r\nThank you again for giving my students this opportunity. Your generosity has made a lasting impact on their learning and has helped bring creativity, curiosity, and excitement into our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1763474801779,"projectUrl":"project/cardboard-creations-building-big-ideas/9573101/","projectTitle":"Cardboard Creations: Building Big Ideas K–6","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Elotlan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3862834_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1586611655740","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3862834"},{"teacherId":2006053,"projectId":9555979,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for all of your donations.
