They were installed after school one day, and the very next morning the students immediately noticed them and were eager to find out how we would be using them.\r\n\r\nOn the very first day, students were placed into random groups of three and tasked with simplifying a challenging expression. The level of engagement was inspiring—students were actively discussing math with one another, thoughtfully explaining their reasoning (even when it wasn't correct), and collaborating in ways I hadn't observed before. Most impressively, they didn't want to stop working!\r\n\r\nMoving forward, my goal is to integrate the whiteboards as much as possible—both for introducing new skills and reinforcing previously learned concepts.","fullyFundedDate":1753750942714,"projectUrl":"project/help-build-a-thinking-classroom/9416084/","projectTitle":"Help Build a Thinking Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Emily Dickey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/emily-dickey"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_28203","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":110,"numTeachers":5,"percentFrplEligible":52,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":52,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":33,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"22.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":94.1,"schoolId":28203,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mark West Charter School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mark West Charter School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/mark-west-union-school-district/mark-west-charter-school/28203"}
