Because of your generosity, they've been able to complete assignments and projects without the added stress of borrowing from classmates or worrying about not having what they need to succeed. Something as simple as having their own markers, glue sticks, or colored pencils makes a huge difference, especially when those things aren't always accessible at home.\r\n\r\nYour support hasn't just helped with projects; it's helped them interact better with the material being taught. They have been using the supplies to color-code and organize their notes, making it easier to understand and remember what they're learning. \r\n\r\nI'm so grateful for your support; these supplies are really making an impact in my students' daily learning.","fullyFundedDate":1757163365377,"projectUrl":"project/basic-classroom-supplies-to-support-stud/9442684/","projectTitle":"Basic Classroom Supplies to Support Student Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Leon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10043517"},{"teacherId":10043517,"projectId":9435347,"letterContent":"When my students first opened the resources, they were so excited! They had been hoping and planning for a way to include our special education students in new activities and help them feel more connected to the school community. Since then, they've hosted two board game days, and the feedback has been amazing. Teachers mentioned how well-organized the events were, and it was clear how much all the students enjoyed having a chance to interact and have fun together in a different setting.\r\n\r\nMy WEB leaders came back raving about how smart and engaging our students in the SDC class are. They genuinely enjoyed spending time with them and are already looking forward to making these events a regular part of the school year.","fullyFundedDate":1755093199229,"projectUrl":"project/building-compassion-through-connection/9435347/","projectTitle":"Building Compassion Through Connection: Board Game Day","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Leon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10043517"},{"teacherId":10043517,"projectId":9566716,"letterContent":"Having these additional books in the classroom has made such a big difference. Not only do the students have a wider selection to choose from, but they've also started sharing what they're reading and recommending books to each other. One of our most avid readers has already gone through nearly an entire series of five to seven books, and she's finishing about one a week! It's so exciting to know that she now has access to reading material she's genuinely interested in. Her enthusiasm is inspiring her classmates and earning their admiration, which is helping to motivate them to read more, too.\r\n\r\nRight now, my students are working on different projects connected to their reading. Most of them are journaling meaningful quotes and analyzing what those quotes mean. It's great practice for learning how to support their ideas with textual evidence, which is something they'll need when writing stronger body paragraphs in their formal essays.","fullyFundedDate":1755032776543,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-young-minds-one-book-at-a-time/9566716/","projectTitle":"Fueling Young Minds, One Book at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Leon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10043517"},{"teacherId":10043517,"projectId":9655087,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting my classroom. Thanks to your support, I can make sure they always have what they need. They're able to focus on learning instead of worrying about being unprepared, which helps our lessons run more smoothly and gives every student a fair chance to succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1757194840874,"projectUrl":"project/tools-for-thinking-supplying-the-path-t/9655087/","projectTitle":"Tools for Thinking: Supplying the Path to Independent Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Leon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10043517"},{"teacherId":10043517,"projectId":9378519,"letterContent":"Expressing my gratitude for helping us build our classroom library is exciting and . These books are making a huge impact on my students, not just by helping them grow their vocabulary, but also by giving them the tools to dig deeper into the content we're learning in class. Right now, they're working on their own student dictionaries, which helps them build vocabulary intentionally while also incorporating grammar into their daily learning. They've already completed their first book report and are diving into their second! The first report was a creative project where they made mobiles using hangers, images, and shapes to represent major parts of the plot and the author's purpose, and backed up with evidence from the text.\r\n\r\nTheir next report is a newspaper-style project where they'll write opinion pieces rating the book, again using textual evidence. They'll also be analyzing character actions, identifying the protagonist, antagonist, and supporting characters, and exploring how the author's purpose or point of view is reflected in what the characters do. One of the best parts is that many of the books are directly connected to our curriculum. This means students are getting to read full texts and not just excerpts. That gives them the chance to really dive into stories, explore the author's purpose, see how conflicts unfold and get resolved, and deeply understand the characters and themes.\r\n\r\nWhat's been especially rewarding is seeing how much my students love our new library space. A small group of them now comes in before and after school just to enjoy it. Some curl up on the rug with a cushion, others settle into a comfy chair or the bench to read quietly. This same group was the one that helped unbox all the books and set up the library. They were so excited to see all the new titles, and now they keep coming to me with lists of more books they'd love to read and ideas for future projects. What makes this library so special to them is knowing that all the books are new and that someone out there thought of them when choosing these titles. It tells them that their interests and voices were considered, and that their learning is also important because donors like you choose to support our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1748734234667,"projectUrl":"project/build-a-love-for-reading-by-building-our/9378519/","projectTitle":"Build A Love for Reading by Building Our Class Library!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Leon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10043517"},{"teacherId":10043517,"projectId":9380543,"letterContent":"Once again, I would like to thank you for providing my students with a space where they can enjoy reading and learn along the way. My students have just begun to check out books since school just started three weeks ago. However, they have been using the library area since the beginning of the school year during their free time or after school and truly enjoy the space that has been provided for them with your generous donations. This reading space has made a great impact on my students. They are eager to come in and read in the library and enjoy spending time there with their friends, which is a positive way of seeing reading as something that you do for fun and can be considered a place to socialize.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw this area, they were very excited and asked if they could use the area. They mentioned that the last time they had a library area was in elementary, which made me realize that in elementary, they foster a love for reading, but when they get to school, the same excitement and environment is not provided, and this may be why many of our students stop enjoying reading. I am very excited to have this area for my students because I can see how happy my students are to have this space in their classroom.\r\n\r\nThe next step with this project is to have them do projects where they show what they have learned from their reading. They will do creative projects like a newspaper, where they will create opinion pieces based on the characters or the events in the book, and present them in a manner that illustrates their understanding of literary elements.","fullyFundedDate":1751413869739,"projectUrl":"project/where-reading-feels-like-home/9380543/","projectTitle":"Where Reading Feels Like Home","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Leon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10043517"},{"teacherId":1640729,"projectId":8960860,"letterContent":"On behalf of the entire 6th grade class at Walnut Park MS School of Social Justice, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your generous donation that made our dream of a new speaker system a reality through DonorsChoose.
