During flu season, we had completely run out of wipes, hand sanitizer, pencils, and Lysol spray. With your support, I was able to keep the classroom clean and disinfected—especially the desks and chairs that students use all day. This not only helped keep everyone healthier, but it also allowed us to continue with our hands-on learning activities without disruption.\r\n\r\nOne specific way we used the desks was during math lessons. My students often draw out their problem-solving strategies directly on the desks using dry erase markers. With the help of the wipes and Expo cleaner, we could easily clean and sanitize the desks after each session, keeping learning fun and safe. The students were so excited to see the classroom stocked again—especially with fresh pencils and sanitizer! They immediately noticed the difference and we appreciated everything! Now that we've got the essentials back in place, we're continuing to dive deeper into math projects that involve drawing number lines, models, and visual explanations right on the desks. Thank you so much for helping me with my first year of teaching!","fullyFundedDate":1742146380313,"projectUrl":"project/is-it-rabbit-season-no-its-the-fall-f/8949433/","projectTitle":"Is It Rabbit Season? With these headphones, students can engage with digital lessons, adaptive learning platforms, and assessments without distractions, allowing them to concentrate fully on their work. This has been especially beneficial during testing and independent learning time, where minimizing outside noise helps students stay on task and perform at their best. This is extremely impactful specifically for our students with special needs to are easily impacted by extra noise around them. \r\n\r\nBeyond academic benefits, the headphones have also enhanced student confidence and independence. Many of our learners thrive in structured, distraction-free settings, and having their own set of headphones ensures they can immerse themselves in lessons without background noise interfering. The impact has been evident in their increased engagement and enthusiasm for learning. Because of our donors' generosity, each child can now access the tools they need to succeed, reinforcing the importance of equity in education. We are incredibly grateful for this support, as it directly contributes to a more effective and inclusive learning environment for all students.","fullyFundedDate":1733783347045,"projectUrl":"project/listen-and-learn-headphones-for-focused/8843716/","projectTitle":"Listen and Learn: Headphones for Focused Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Marshall","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9122688_orig.jpg?crop=885,885,x0,y271&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1690567865769","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9122688"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_30248","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1000,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":87,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":91.0,"schoolId":30248,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Inner City Education Foundation View Park Preparatory Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Inner City Education Foundation View Park Preparatory Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/los-angeles-unified-school-district/view-park-prep-accelerated-ces/30248"}
