Thanks to Panda Cares, our school received a digital drum set that is already making a powerful impact on our students and campus culture.\r\n\r\nThe digital drum set has become much more than a musical instrument, it is a tool for confidence building, emotional expression, and engagement. Many of our students face daily challenges that can affect their self esteem and sense of belonging. Through drumming, students are learning focus, discipline, and teamwork while discovering a positive outlet for stress and creativity. For some, this is their first opportunity to explore music in a hands on and accessible way.\r\n\r\nSince receiving the drum set, we have seen increased student participation during music and enrichment activities, improved confidence among students who were previously hesitant to speak up or perform, and a stronger sense of pride in their abilities. The flexibility of the digital drum set allows students of all skill levels to participate, experiment, and succeed, reinforcing the message that growth and confidence are built through practice and perseverance.\r\n\r\nYour investment through Panda Cares has directly contributed to creating a supportive, inspiring learning environment where students feel empowered to try something new and believe in themselves. We are deeply grateful for your commitment to uplifting students and schools like ours.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us truly \"drum up confidence\" at Libra Academy High School. Your generosity is leaving a lasting rhythm in the lives of our students.","fullyFundedDate":1769177715644,"projectUrl":"project/drumming-up-confidence/10038841/","projectTitle":"Drumming Up Confidence","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Eleanor Bunker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10411661_orig.jpg?crop=708,708,x0,y7&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768665177176","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10411661"},{"teacherId":10269187,"projectId":9728488,"letterContent":"Thanks to your thoughtful donations, I was able to provide students with their own practical tools to be used in a Geometry setting. These toolkits were incredibly useful during our unit on Similarity, in which students had to construct dilations and measure angles. They will be more useful still in the next semester when we begin our units on trigonometry and special right triangles, coordinate geometry, and circles.\r\n\r\nThe students were very excited when I told them about the fundraiser and how they would all be receiving brand new tools. They were especially excited to be able to have a choice in color! I was able to draft a contract for the students to sign illustrating that they are responsible for the materials on loan to them as a means of teaching them responsibility and accountability. Students signed and returned them to me and they were able to begin using their materials right away. They were even helpful for the students Final assessment this semester.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your kindness and generosity! What began as a simple request for nutritious snacks has become something far more meaningful—a foundation of care that allows these resilient young people to focus on learning rather than hunger. I am deeply grateful for the profound impact your kindness has created in our classroom.\r\n\r\nYour support makes a tangible difference in countless daily moments. Just last week, I watched one of my students grab a granola bar before our college application discussion. Previously, she would struggle to concentrate after skipping breakfast, often putting her head down mid-period. Now, with proper nutrition fueling her focus, she actively participated for the entire period, asking thoughtful questions about financial aid and sharing her dreams of becoming the first in her family to attend university. Similarly, another one of my students no longer has to choose between staying for tutoring or going home for dinner. The trail mix and crackers you provided give him the sustained energy to excel in academics.\r\n\r\nYour generosity extends far beyond nutrition—it has removed barriers and created an environment where learning truly flourishes. These snacks have become symbols of care, reminding my students daily that people believe in their potential. Thank you for seeing the promise in these amazing young people and giving them the fuel they need to reach their dreams. Your impact will echo in every success they achieve.","fullyFundedDate":1742823838626,"projectUrl":"project/snack-attack-to-fight-low-energy/9021450/","projectTitle":"Snack Attack to Fight Low Energy!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bocanegra","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8151939"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_104555","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":644,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":93,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":98,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"25.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":85.5,"schoolId":104555,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Marquez High School - Libra Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Marquez High School - Libra Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/los-angeles-unified-school-district/marquez-high-school-libra-acad/104555"}
