They have thought of multiple ways to play with the bowling ball and pins. Often they kick the ball instead of rolling it. The ring toss has helped their eye hand coordination, and more opportunities to learn sharing and turn taking. Simultaneously increasing their motor abilities and social emotional growth. The hop along balls are always a big hit giving them practice with balance and building strength in their legs. They love the comet balls. These are such a popular toy that they wear out and need to be replaced yearly. \r\nAgain we are incredibly grateful for your support and for believing in early childhood education.\r\nWe appreciate your generosity and support of our classroom. They were so excited to see new materials and couldn't wait to start adding the new gravel and features to our aquarium. They have learned responsibility, and observation skills while caring for the fish: feeding the fish, checking the temperature of the water, maintaining the water level and cleaning the tank. As well as knowledge of the natural world and the importance of clean water in the fish tank and in our world. In addition we have had many discussions about how fish breathe, and their life cycle. \r\nThe books helped us learn about water and its importance for all living creatures. They have increased my students' language and shown them the value of learning through books. They have also learned social emotional skills by reading Swimmy and Pout Pout fish. \r\nThe aquarium supplies, water toys, and books in our classroom has greatly enhanced my students' learning and engagement. They immediately began exploring, selecting and manipulating the materials they wanted to use according to the assigned area.\r\nThey pretended to run a pizza shop, they were taking orders from their friends and placing the pizzas in their boxes; while others became barbers and hairdressers, carefully styling hair, shaving, cutting hair using the pretend tools, and engaging in conversations with each other. Spring will be the right time to set up our flower shop where our students will arrange bouquets and sell flowers.\r\nThese materials have encouraged my students to use more expressive language, cooperate with one another, and take on meaningful roles. I observed them assigning roles, taking turns with these roles, and showing each other how to use the materials appropriately.\r\nAs we move forward, we will continue expanding their experiences by introducing new themes, vocabulary, and simple writing opportunities such as order forms, appointment books and signs.
