The large visual timer has become a key part of our classroom routine, especially during independent work and transitions, helping students stay on task and understand expectations. Our calm corner is now fully set up with laminated visuals, fidgets, and flexible seating cushions, giving students a structured space to reset and self-regulate before returning to learning. I've already seen students independently choose tools that help them calm their bodies and refocus during challenging moments.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were excited and immediately curious about how everything worked. They were especially drawn to the fidgets and flexible seating cushions and asked thoughtful questions about when and how they could be used responsibly. Many students shared that the calm corner made them feel supported and understood, and they were eager to try the timer and new seating during class activities. Their positive reactions showed how much they value having tools that support both their learning and emotional well-being.\r\n\r\nThanks to our donors, the next steps for my students include using these tools consistently as we work through longer assignments, group projects, and test preparation. Students are practicing self-monitoring their time, recognizing when they need a break, and choosing strategies that help them stay focused and productive. These resources are helping build lifelong skills in self-regulation and responsibility.
