They have enjoyed their chair pockets so much. They put their pencil boxes in there and their extra workbooks. The markers have been a blessing as well. They use the markers to outline their illustrations before coloring them with their new crayons. The homework folders were a good addition to my classroom. All their homework packets get inserted into their folders, they take it home to complete, and return them on Friday mornings. My students really love the color of their new pencil boxes. They get to keep their brand, new scissors, pencil, eraser, and glue sticks inside their brand new boxes. It helps them focus during lessons, engage more in discussions, and feel a stronger sense of belonging in our classroom. The rug has quickly become the heart of our classroom—a place where we gather each morning to share stories, learn new skills, and build our sense of community. One special moment was during our first read-aloud, when my students were sitting crisscross, leaning in closely, completely engaged in the story. Having a cozy, defined space helps them focus and gives them a sense of belonging. The rug also supports our small group lessons and provides a safe, comfortable space for collaborative learning. Our next step is using this rug as the foundation for our upcoming literacy and math lessons, where students will use their rug spots to turn and talk with partners, practice number games, and participate in group discussions. It's more than just a rug—it's a safe place where my students feel connected, calm, and ready to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1746786084117,"projectUrl":"project/a-classroom-rug-is-a-safe-place-to-learn/9060126/","projectTitle":"A Classroom Rug Is a Safe Place to Learn","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ayala","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8031904_orig.png?crop=1193,1193,x106,y116&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720407206496","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-ayala96"},{"teacherId":8031904,"projectId":9349918,"letterContent":"When our new bookshelf and rugs arrived, my students' faces lit up! They immediately rushed over to browse the neatly organized books and were so excited to have a cozy spot to sit and read. The rug has become a favorite place for small groups to gather and share stories, and the new bookshelf makes it easy for students to find and return books on their own. These additions have transformed our classroom library into a welcoming space that encourages a love of reading and independence.\r\n\r\nWith these new resources in place, our next step is helping students build their reading stamina and confidence. The cozy library corner has become a go-to space where students can dive into books that match their interests and reading levels. We've already started using the space for partner reading and small group discussions, and students are beginning to recommend books to each other. This has created a stronger sense of community around reading, and I can't wait to see their growth as lifelong readers.","fullyFundedDate":1756137379884,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-library/9349918/","projectTitle":"Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ayala","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8031904_orig.png?crop=1193,1193,x106,y116&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720407206496","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-ayala96"},{"teacherId":9344132,"projectId":9085170,"letterContent":"Our students are loving their new resources for the classroom.
