They enjoy pretending to build the chimney, add \"fire,\" and warm up by it together. This activity encourages their imagination and creativity while helping them learn about how people stay warm during colder weather. It also gives them the chance to practice taking turns, sharing materials, and working together to make something as a team.\r\n\r\nThis play experience has also supported their language and social skills. As they talk about the chimney and what it's used for, they learn new words and express their ideas with confidence. It's a simple but meaningful way to connect what they see in stories or at home to hands-on learning. The pretend chimney has brought excitement and joy to our library visits, making learning fun and engaging for everyone.","fullyFundedDate":1755701137322,"projectUrl":"project/fireplace-in-the-classroom/9556603/","projectTitle":"Fireplace in the Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Leslie Perez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7758076_orig.png?crop=427,427,x113,y359&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1617239778921","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/helpoutateacher"},{"teacherId":7758076,"projectId":9328484,"letterContent":"It's often the little things that make the biggest difference. For a kiddo who tends to get anxious or overwhelmed, having a quick, calming affirmation or a short social story whispered directly into their ear through an AirPod can be a real source of comfort. It's private, it's just for them, and it helps them subtly regulate their emotions without drawing unnecessary attention. And for my non-verbal students who use communication apps on their iPads to express their needs and ideas, having the app's output go through an AirPod can feel a little more personal and less \"on display\" when they're trying to communicate with me or another child. It's about giving them a little more control and privacy in their communication.","fullyFundedDate":1746714994475,"projectUrl":"project/teach-tools-for-tiny-learners-boosting/9328484/","projectTitle":"Teach Tools for Tiny Learners, Boosting Language and Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Leslie Perez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7758076_orig.png?crop=427,427,x113,y359&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1617239778921","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/helpoutateacher"},{"teacherId":7758076,"projectId":9099181,"letterContent":"Okay, imagine our Pre-K room is like a rainbow – and colored ink helps us paint it! When the kids come in, they see bright colors on the board. I use different inks to show them what we're doing that day, like a red circle for playtime or a blue letter we're learning. It makes it easy for them to see what's happening.\r\n\r\nArt time is super fun with colored ink! We have pads with all sorts of bright colors. The kids can dip their fingers or stamps in the ink and make amazing pictures. It's like magic seeing the colors pop on the paper! This helps their little hands get stronger and lets them show how creative they are.\r\n\r\nWe also use colored ink to learn. When we write our names or practice letters, I might write them in different colors. This helps the kids see each part of the letter better. For counting, I can draw red apples and then blue bananas. The different colors make it easier to see the groups and learn about numbers.\r\n\r\nEven keeping our classroom tidy is easier with colored ink! I might use a blue picture to show where the blocks go and a green picture for the books. The kids know where things belong because of the colors. When I look at their work, I use colorful ink for good job marks, like a happy yellow star. It makes them feel proud of what they did.\r\n\r\nColored ink just makes everything more fun and easier to see in our Pre-K room. It helps the kids learn, be creative, and understand what's going on.
