What may appear to be simple resources have truly become powerful tools in their growth, confidence, and overall love for reading.\r\n\r\nSince receiving these books, I've watched students open up in new ways. The accessible text, supportive structure, and engaging content have allowed them to experience success where they once felt hesitation. Each book has given them opportunities to feel capable, motivated, and proud of their progress.\r\n\r\nBeyond academic gains, the leveled books have helped create moments of connection—moments where students light up because they understand the story, can read aloud comfortably, or can answer questions with confidence. These small but important victories have built momentum, and that momentum has made a tremendous difference in their attitude toward learning.\r\n\r\nThank you for providing resources that meet students where they are and help them move forward. Because of you, our TK–Kinder students were able to experience the joy and power of music in a way that truly enriched their learning, cultural expression, and confidence.\r\n\r\nWith the new speaker, our Folklórico dance program rehearsals came to life. For many of our 90 young learners—some just four or five years old—this was their first time hearing authentic music that reflects their roots and inspires movement. The clarity and volume of the music allowed them to rehearse with intention and excitement, transforming our tiny practice spaces into vibrant space filled with rhythm, pride, and laughter. Their final performance was a magical moment where they danced with pride and gusto.\r\n\r\nThis project was never just about music or dance—it was about connection. Our students come from diverse, hardworking families, many of whom face economic challenges. Through folklórico, they had the opportunity to explore their cultural heritage in a hands-on, joyful way. The speaker gave them the tools to not only practice the art form, but also build important life skills like discipline, cooperation, and self-esteem. As one of our little ones shouted, \"I love folklorico!,\" and that pride is exactly what your gift helped nurture.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students. Because of you, they were able to dance, shine, and take ownership of their cultural stories—loud and proud.","fullyFundedDate":1735663186922,"projectUrl":"project/folklorico-dance-program/9002372/","projectTitle":"Folklorico Dance Program","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Garcia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9871715_orig.png?crop=371,372,x0,y34&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733980236962","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9871715"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_25673","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":307,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":90,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":13,"percentWhite":6,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":74,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":79.6,"schoolId":25673,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Cesar Chavez Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Cesar Chavez Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/long-beach-unified-school-district/cesar-chavez-elementary-school/25673"}
