They were all very excited to use the wedges and rolling mat! All the students enjoy using the yoga balls and getting their deep pressure needs met!\r\n\r\nStudents are able to use these materials when they get elevated and need some time to regulate their emotions. Some of our students benefit from deep pressure which they get when they flop on mats, hang upside down and bounce. \r\n\r\nNext, I would like to try to get Bluetooth headphones for my students to be able to offer them music while working that can be customised to their individual preferences. This would allow them to concentrate during tough tasks or have a break from the noise of the room. This tool has profoundly and truly transformative impacted my two English learners in my classroom. Before receiving the device, it was a significant challenge communicating with my Urdu-speaking student and then also translating everything for my only Spanish-speaking student. It was a burden on them to complete assignments in a language they couldn't understand. While I strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment, the language barrier often leaves them feeling isolated, frustrated, and struggling to fully participate in lessons and classroom discussions. The translating device has acted as a bridge to connect students to the curriculum. For example, the translation capabilities of the device have allowed my students to snap a picture of text on a page and quickly translate it for them in the language they need by reading the text to them in their primary language. I have noticed a boost in their confidence and an increase in the assignments they complete. \r\n\r\nThank you once again for your incredible generosity. This translating device is more than just a piece of technology; it is a tool that has opened doors and empowered my students to reach their full potential.","fullyFundedDate":1738018592591,"projectUrl":"project/words-without-borders/9068294/","projectTitle":"Words Without Borders","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Reyes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8417674_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1669572812643","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8417674"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_42761","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":434,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":18,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":74,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"19.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":84.1,"schoolId":42761,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Heritage Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Heritage Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/lodi-unified-school-district/heritage-primary-school/42761"}
