Two of the items having a huge impact are the chair pocket organizers and the supply carts. This year I switched my classroom furniture from desks with individual storage to tables with no storage. The desks were way too big for my kindergarteners and not age appropriate. I needed a solution for these table not having any storage for the students' folders, papers, etc near or at their tables. 4/6 of my tables have chairs so those students now can use their fabric chair pockets to put their folders and papers - this helps us cut down on transition time since their work is right at their table with them. The 2 floor tables we have that don't have chairs get to use the carts to organize their folders and work. The carts are right next to their tables so they don't have to go far to get their work/put it away. This has helped the flow and organization of our classroom immensely!\r\nI was also able to get a long list of many other classroom items that either needed to be replaced like the geoboards and headphones or I had run out of like white board markers and triangular grip pencils.","fullyFundedDate":1755740201517,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-organization-for-success/9533296/","projectTitle":"Classroom Organization for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Stalock","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3232183_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748707752884","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-stalock"},{"teacherId":9004999,"projectId":8860085,"letterContent":"I am so grateful for the support of this project! The vestibular input the balls provide in balancing and bouncing is helping my students alertness and attentiveness. Now that we have enough for the whole group, no one is left out. Unfortunately, due to our busy testing schedule in the spring, I neglected to take photos until the summer, when fewer of my students were available to model the chair use. Please know all the students were able to utilize them earlier in the spring.\r\n\r\nStarting a new year in August, I plan to re-inflate the balls, reiterate the rules with my old and new students, and set up new groups for this years crop of learning needs. \r\n\r\nOver the course of the summer, I taught in a preschool special day program and seeing some of our younger student's movement needs and attention span helped in understanding what develops into my older students needs. We have nearly a wall of windows that run the length of our classroom that open onto a very large field. Students have so far identified a killdeer, a great egret,a great blue heron, crows, golden-crowned sparrows, our resident red-tailed hawk and a hairy woodpecker.\r\n Besides using the binoculars around our campus, students also used them on our field trip to see the elephant seals at Año Nuevo State Park. There is a large pond on the walk out to the ocean is a stop over for pelicans, sea gulls, cormorants and red-winged blackbirds. The binoculars allowed students to feel very close to the seals. \r\n Their nature journals are filled with sketches of the plants and flowers from our school garden and farm. Next, students will use their bird sightings and drawings to create interpretive signs of the birds that frequent our school campus.
