Watching them step up to the booth with curiosity, confidence, and pride has been inspiring. Students who once doubted themselves are now volunteering to lead tech crews, experimenting with color, intensity, and timing, and discovering new ways to express their creativity beyond acting.\r\n\r\nThe hands-on experience has also sparked meaningful collaboration. Tech teams now work together to solve problems, communicate clearly, and support their classmates onstage. These opportunities have helped students develop real-world skills—leadership, responsibility, and technical literacy—that will benefit them long after middle school.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your support has elevated every performance we produce. Our plays and in-class scenes now feel more polished, professional, and exciting for students and their families. The pride they feel when they see their work come alive under lights they programmed themselves is priceless.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping create a space where young artists can discover new passions, build confidence, and envision themselves as designers, technicians, and creative thinkers. Your generosity truly helped light the way for our students, and we are deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1756730143007,"projectUrl":"project/we-need-lightssound-to-make-our-drama-c/9646083/","projectTitle":"We Need Lights/sound to Make Our Drama Classroom Stage Authentic!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Fedele","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9805442_orig.jpg?crop=3456,3456,x0,y576&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1729393117962","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9805442"},{"teacherId":9805442,"projectId":8883447,"letterContent":"I have to apologize—I thought I uploaded these pictures last December, but I totally missed it. Thank you for your patience! I'll be adding some new photos soon, as I've since moved everything into a new classroom space.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, I have been able to create a truly inspiring Theatre classroom for my fantastic group of 8th graders here in Clearlake, CA. Many of my students come from families facing economic hardships, and for most of them, school has often felt like a struggle. But when they walked into our transformed classroom for the first time, their faces lit up. The vibrant visuals, props, and supplies gave them the sense that this was not just another classroom—it was a creative space where they belonged.\r\n\r\nWe've already used these resources in some exciting ways. One of my favorite moments was when students worked together on a stage design project. Using the props and set pieces made possible by your donations, they were able to brainstorm, sketch, and then bring their designs to life. For many, it was the first time they'd ever had access to real stage materials, and they immediately took ownership of the process. A few students who had been hesitant to participate in class suddenly became leaders, guiding their peers on how to use lighting and props to create mood and setting.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for us are even more exciting. My students are currently preparing for a performance project where they will not only act but also take charge of the technical theatre roles—lighting, sound, and set construction. This hands-on experience is helping them see that theatre is more than just performing; it's about teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving. With your help, they now have the tools to dream bigger and to imagine themselves in new roles—on stage and behind the scenes.\r\n\r\nYour support has done more than decorate a room; it has inspired a group of young people to see themselves as capable of amazing things. From the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of my students, thank you.","fullyFundedDate":1729512415427,"projectUrl":"project/help-make-my-theater-classroom-pop/8883447/","projectTitle":"Help Make My Theater Classroom Pop!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Fedele","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9805442_orig.jpg?crop=3456,3456,x0,y576&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1729393117962","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9805442"},{"teacherId":7022949,"projectId":9001442,"letterContent":"On behalf of my amazing 7th grade middle schoolers at Obsidian Middle School, in Clearlake California, I want to thank you so very much for the amazing donation that helped them create poetry notebooks. Having the ability to create a poem and choose the paper to be printed on was such a treat for them. My students come from an area of California where poverty is quite High. After laminating them, the students put them in binders and created a cover. This project had a large impact on their creativity, and I was told that this was one of their favorite projects that we had done this year. Some told me that they would be giving their book of poetry to their mothers for Mother's Day. Again, this project could not have been accomplished if not for the generous donations.
