Some students thought puppets were alive and were surprised to find out they are not. Other students were initially shy to utilize them but as our program continued the students opened up and began to thrive. \r\n\r\nPuppets played a significant role in the literacy development of our student population by enhancing listening skills, vocabulary, language skills, while also boosting self-confidence and creativity in our young learners. \r\n\r\nHere's a more detailed look at the impact of puppets on our students literacy development:\r\n\r\nEnhanced Listening Skills:\r\nPuppets captured student's attention and encouraged them to listen attentively to stories, rhymes, and songs, improving their comprehension and focus. \r\nVocabulary Development:\r\nUsing puppets to act out stories or introduce new words helped students learn and retain vocabulary in a fun and engaging way. \r\nLanguage Skills:\r\nPuppet play provided opportunities for students to practice their language skills through role-playing, storytelling, and creating dialogues, which improved their communication abilities. \r\n\r\nThe puppets were an amazing tool to utilize in our reading intervention progrom. Sometimes I don't think the students even realized how much they were learning, it was taking place organically!
