They have had such an impact on our students and my small groups!\r\n\r\nEach day I work with 7 different groups of students in grades Kinder-3rd grade. We learn a new spelling pattern and then use our magnetic letter boards to build words with these spelling patterns. Having a board and individual letters for each student has made such a profound difference in their learning! The students are able to manipulate the letters to build words and work together to correct their work. \r\n\r\nThe students' reading fluency is increasing exponentially! I just gave a new fluency assessment and every single student was reading more sounds and words than they did on the initial assessment in September! It has been such a joy to watch them grow in their reading skills and this is in part due to your donations and the gift of these reading tools! Their confidence is also being built so they can can return to class with the knowledge that they are reading closer to grade level with their peers. Students that used to hate reading now look forward to this small group time as the favorite part of their day!\r\n\r\nI can't thank you enough for your generosity. We have all learned so much since receiving the materials we requested. We were all excited to get our hands busy assembling and planting our seeds.\r\n\r\nAs we assembled our planters, we practiced our team-building skills. Communication and collaboration were essential for this. Meanwhile, we had one person reading the manual and giving instructions on what to do, we had another classmate grabbing the correct pieces to assemble. Others focused on assembling and everyone brought the support and encouragement. Overall, we had a great time working together bringing this project to life.\r\n\r\nIn the upcoming months, we will collaborate with the rest of our school to maintain our garden. We will teach our youngest scholars on site to care for our garden by not pulling on the plants. We have an Eco Club on site that will be composting leftover lunch food and providing nutrients to our soil. We hope to grow vegetables in the spring and share with our community.\r\n\r\nWe thank you once again for your generosity.
