In our math classroom, technology has become a powerful tool that helps students visualize concepts, practice skills, and receive immediate feedback. Instead of simply memorizing procedures, students are able to interact with math concepts in new ways through digital resources, simulations, and collaborative activities. This technology allows me to provide more personalized support, reach different learning styles, and give students additional opportunities to build confidence in their mathematical abilities.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students has been having access to tools that make learning feel more engaging and connected to the world around them. Students enjoy being able to explore problems, collaborate with classmates, and use technology to show their thinking in creative ways. Many students who may have been hesitant to participate in traditional math activities are now more willing to take risks, ask questions, and persevere through challenging problems because the technology creates a more interactive and supportive learning environment.\r\n\r\nI have especially noticed the impact on students who sometimes struggle with confidence in math. Students who were once quiet or unsure of their abilities have become more engaged because they can learn at their own pace and receive support along the way. The technology has helped create opportunities for all learners, including those who need extra practice and those who are ready for additional challenges. Thank you for investing in my students and helping provide resources that inspire curiosity, encourage growth, and make a meaningful difference in their education.","fullyFundedDate":1776092331847,"projectUrl":"project/mathematician-in-the-need-of-calculators/10094813/","projectTitle":"Mathematician in the Need of Calculators and Whiteboards","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Parra","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8495537_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y123&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1659677829420","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8495537"},{"teacherId":9998278,"projectId":10121377,"letterContent":"Thanks to your incredible generosity, our classroom has been able to use these resources every single day. The glue sticks have helped my students create interactive notebooks, complete hands-on science and social studies activities, and organize their work in a way that makes learning more meaningful. The calculators have given many of my students the confidence to tackle math problems independently by allowing them to focus on understanding the concepts instead of becoming frustrated with basic computation. Our Expo markers are constantly in use during whole-group lessons, small-group instruction, and independent practice, giving every student an opportunity to actively participate and show what they know.\r\n\r\nWhen my students saw the new supplies arrive, they were genuinely excited. Something as simple as having the tools they needed without worrying about running out made them feel valued and prepared for learning. One of my favorite moments was watching students eagerly grab their whiteboards and markers to solve math problems together, encouraging one another and celebrating their successes. Those everyday moments of confidence and engagement are possible because of your kindness.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, these materials will remain an important part of our daily instruction. We will use them during collaborative activities, interactive lessons, and hands-on projects that help reinforce new skills while building independence and confidence. Your support has provided more than classroom supplies—it has created opportunities for my students to participate, succeed, and believe in themselves. Thank you for investing in my students and helping make our classroom a place where every child has the tools they need to learn and grow.","fullyFundedDate":1776100885369,"projectUrl":"project/equipping-our-special-education-classroo/10121377/","projectTitle":"Equipping Our Special Education Classroom for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Smail","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9998278_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744494913253","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9998278"},{"teacherId":8430070,"projectId":10001374,"letterContent":"The scientific calculators donated through this project have already made a meaningful difference in my classroom. Many of my students come into 8th grade with varying levels of confidence in math, and having consistent access to their own classroom calculators has helped remove a barrier that often caused frustration. Instead of spending excessive time on calculations, students are able to focus more on understanding concepts, identifying patterns, and explaining their mathematical thinking. During lessons on linear relationships and functions, I have noticed students taking greater ownership of their learning because they can quickly check their work and test their ideas independently.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting for my students is having access to a tool that makes them feel like real mathematicians. There was an immediate sense of excitement when the calculators arrived, and students were to learn how to use these calculators. Several students who are typically hesitant to participate have become more willing to attempt challenging problems because they feel more confident verifying their calculations. I have also seen students collaborate more naturally, comparing strategies and helping one another navigate the calculator functions.\r\n\r\nA few students have especially benefited from these calculators. Some of my students with learning differences or processing challenges often become overwhelmed when trying to keep up with multi-step computations while also learning new concepts. The calculators have helped reduce that cognitive load, allowing them to focus on the mathematical reasoning behind the problem. Seeing their confidence grow has been one of the most rewarding outcomes of this project, and I am incredibly grateful to our donors for making these opportunities possible.","fullyFundedDate":1776091702589,"projectUrl":"project/giving-every-student-access-to-math-succ/10001374/","projectTitle":"Giving Every Student Access to Math Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Valdez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8430070_orig.png?crop=285,285,x5,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1767979422960","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8430070"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_79010","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1162,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":63,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":6,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":90,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"26.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":92.5,"schoolId":79010,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Frank Wright Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Frank Wright Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/imperial-unified-school-district/frank-wright-interm-school/79010"}
