The new fairy tale books you provided have allowed my students to explore classic stories and modern retellings while deepening their understanding of character development, theme, and symbolism. We've also focused on comparing traditional tales from different cultures, helping students recognize shared values and lessons across the world's storytelling traditions.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom now feels magical. Students often gather in small groups to read aloud, discuss story elements, and debate characters' choices. Many have been inspired to write their own versions of fairy tales, experimenting with new settings and endings. These books have also encouraged more reluctant readers to participate, as the familiar yet fantastical stories draw them in and make reading feel enjoyable rather than intimidating.\r\n\r\nOne student, in particular, has truly blossomed since receiving these books. She used to shy away from reading during class, but after discovering a book about a clever heroine who outsmarts a dragon, she couldn't put it down. Now, she proudly shares her reflections during class discussions and has even started writing her own fairy tale during independent work time.\r\n\r\nYour donation has done so much more than fill our shelves—it's ignited a love of reading and storytelling that will stay with my students for years to come. We work together to find ways to help students who struggle to read. Older students who struggle to read do not have books that don't look like a primary book.\r\n\r\nI looked for books that were easy to read. The books needed to be interesting so students would want to read them. I found books to fit this need and you purchased the books. I had a student who struggles in reading and she chose a book to read. She read in the library, classroom and at home. This was the first book this student had ever read independently and she couldn't wait to read the next book in the series. It was exciting to see her want to read.\r\n\r\nI can't thank you enough for these books and the impact they are making on students who have never read a book independently.","fullyFundedDate":1739366814637,"projectUrl":"project/exciting-books-for-struggling-readers/8999546/","projectTitle":"Exciting Books for Struggling Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Landin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8979641"},{"teacherId":9017215,"projectId":8951433,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generosity and support in helping our classroom receive magazine subscriptions! These vibrant and engaging resources have transformed the way my students approach reading and current events. With these magazines, my students now have access to diverse, high-interest texts that cater to their varied interests, from science and history to art and pop culture.\r\n\r\nIn our 8th-grade classroom, reading isn't just about comprehension; it's about connecting with the world and fostering curiosity. Your contribution has made it possible to incorporate nonfiction texts that align with our curriculum, sparking meaningful discussions and teaching critical thinking skills. These magazines are helping students analyze articles, identify main ideas, evaluate arguments, and even explore potential career paths. They also serve as a fantastic tool for building vocabulary and preparing for state testing.\r\n\r\nStudents like have been especially excited. Some, who often struggled to find books that hold interest, has been captivated by the technology and gaming articles in the magazines.
