The supplies you funded—markers, colored pencils, paper, caddies, permanent markers, Flair pens, gel pens, filler paper, disinfecting wipes, and the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card—are already being used daily in meaningful and exciting ways.\r\nHow we're using the new resources:\r\nThese materials have been especially powerful during our interactive notebook work and lab investigations. Students now have access to high-quality writing and coloring materials to build detailed diagrams, label processes, create data tables, and construct visual models of scientific concepts. The Astrobrights paper has quickly become a favorite for creating foldables and graphic organizers, helping students visually differentiate important ideas. The storage caddies keep each lab group organized and responsible for their tools, making transitions smoother and giving us more time for hands-on learning.\r\n\r\nNext steps in our current work:\r\nRight now, students are beginning a project involving lab journals, scientific diagrams, and model building. The materials you provided will allow them to create color-coded data tables, detailed illustrations, and organized notebooks that help them deepen their understanding. The TPT gift card is helping me access differentiated resources that support every learner, from those who need extra scaffolding to those ready for enrichment.","fullyFundedDate":1757541267499,"projectUrl":"project/my-high-school-classroom/9417587/","projectTitle":"My High School Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Aragues","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9799848"},{"teacherId":9973954,"projectId":9202416,"letterContent":"Your donations provided tools and materials to begin a discussion and practice within our club to do mindful journaling. Students were given a starting prompt for their first journal practice and the guidance books are now available for any students to reference or seek out additional prompts for journal writing. We hope to carry this practice through to next school year for all club members and to make it a weekly practice and become a norm for us in our mental health awareness club. These aren't just pieces of equipment. They're real-world stepping stones. My students, many from disadvantaged backgrounds, are now learning lifesaving skills that will help them become certified before they even graduate high school.\r\n\r\nIn my classroom, I work hard to prepare students for both college and careers by bringing science to life. We study blood typing, urinalysis, bone fractures, and suturing. Now, thanks to you, we've added CPR and AED training, skills that are essential in the medical field. You've made this new skill accessible, and in doing so, you've helped level the playing field for these disadvantaged students. \r\n\r\nSome of my students dream of becoming EMTs, nurses, or doctors. Your donation gave them a head start. It gave them confidence. Your support has made a tremendous impact on my students, many of whom would not have had access to these essential resources without your generosity.\r\n\r\nWith these materials, my students now have the opportunity to engage with advanced scientific language, analyze complex texts, and practice AP-level questions that will prepare them for the AP Exam. These skills are critical not only for their success on the exam but also for their future college coursework, where strong scientific literacy is essential. By having access to these resources, my students can approach the AP Exam with greater confidence, knowing they have the tools they need to succeed.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of my students and myself, I sincerely thank you for investing in their futures. These materials have allowed for an immersive experience which provided my students with invaluable hands-on opportunities, furthering their understanding of medical sciences and sparking their interest in health-related careers.\r\n\r\nDuring the Orthopedics Unit, students were able to observe the x-rays you provided for diagnostics, details about bone density, and how medical professionals identify fractures. That exposure allowed the students to learn how important the field of radiology is when it comes to taking care of patients.\r\n\r\nIn addition to diagnostic skills, my students developed practical surgical ones. Prolonged practice in suturing on dissections brought them skill in handling a suture needle holder with precision. More than this practical training, the feelings they had when holding those tools was beyond anything I could have give them inside the classroom with paper and pencil. They expressed how incredible it felt to practice like a real physician and how it made them even more motivated to excel in school so they can become a real medical professional. \r\n\r\nThe opportunity to explore these medical tools and procedures first-hand has inspired many of my students to consider careers in healthcare. They have developed a better understanding of the various positions available within the medical field, ranging from radiology to surgery, along with the critical thinking and manual skills each requires. From observing their enthusiasm and growth, I firmly believe this your help has laid a very sound foundation for their future educational and career pursuits.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping me nurture these experiences. Through this initiative, students constructed models of bones, simulating their shapes, densities, and structural integrity. By physically molding different types of bones and fractures, they gained a deeper appreciation for skeletal functions and variations in the human body. This hands-on learning experience helped them grasp complex concepts that might otherwise be difficult to understand through textbooks alone. Many students expressed that physically manipulating the models allowed them to visualize how fractures develop and how medical professionals approach their treatment. This exercise also sparked discussions on bone density, nutrition, and lifestyle choices that impact skeletal health.\r\n\r\nI am so incredibly grateful for the generous donation of the blood typing kit and urinalysis lab supplies. These resources have greatly enhanced the students' learning experiences, allowing them to engage in practical applications of medical science.
