I read aloud novels to my students to model fluent reading. They enjoyed the book this year even when they didn't have their own copy to follow along with. But I know next school year my class will be more engaged in the reading as they follow along with their own copy. I know this because I have class sets of other novels and the engagement significantly increases when they have their own book to hold.\r\nWe often pause to predict, infer and talk about the book as we read. These skills are on very test they take and getting to practice and put it in the perspective of something real like a novel makes it resonate so much more with the kids. And of course they are able to relate that to the test much easier.\r\nThank you again for helping to create lifelong readers in my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1778035722896,"projectUrl":"project/class-set-of-the-wild-robot-protects/10188300/","projectTitle":"Class Set of the Wild Robot Protects!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Nelson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9568373"},{"teacherId":5460647,"projectId":9429937,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our TK classroom. Because of your kindness, our students received a letter bowling game and numbered stepping stones, and the excitement was immediate. When the items arrived, the students' faces lit up with joy as they eagerly explored the materials and couldn't wait to use them.\r\n\r\nWe are using the letter bowling game during small groups and center time to strengthen letter recognition and letter sounds in a fun, engaging way. The numbered stepping stones are used both indoors and outdoors to support number recognition, counting, and gross motor development.
