We have just begun using the compasses, protractors, and various geometry tools purchased by this project. Students have completed the first of seven construction packets that allowed them to create an equilateral triangle as well as a hexagon. They have begun their second packet which will culminate in constructing an octagon and a dodecagon. This may sound like mundane work but the excitement they feel using this tools is palpable. Many of them have never used compasses before and were surprised by the precision with which they were able to draw their figures. In future assignments, students will have the opportunity to create art and complete graphic design projects. Again, we thank you for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1747211001590,"projectUrl":"project/geometry-a-journey-of-discovery/9303568/","projectTitle":"Geometry: a Journey of Discovery","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Rodriguez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4685097"},{"teacherId":6373616,"projectId":9332675,"letterContent":"I want to thank you for helping me make my students feel like their achievements matter. With your gift I was able to get a t shirt press. I was able to to make shirts that had custom messages, and I'll continue to do this for a long time. \r\n\r\nI am also thinking that I can have students create their own custom designs and I will, as a reward, turn it into a t shirt, or iron-on stickers they can put on any of their clothing. \r\n\r\nI ordered this late in the year, so I only used it a bit. Twenty-four campers from ages 7 to 13 participated. Every player came eager to learn and left the courts with smiles on their faces every day. They learned the court features, how to hit groundstrokes and serves, and (importantly) how to score a tennis match. Parent surveys indicated that the campers want more. They wanted the camp to be a week longer. They want more camps through the year. There is a hunger for tennis that no one even knew of until your generous donations gave them the opportunity to see that it was there.\r\n\r\nAs coach of the high school team I have long been frustrated by the lack of development programs and general tennis culture in the area. I also know that tennis can be a cost prohibitive sport. Coupled with the lack of facilities it is easy to imagine that enthusiasm for tennis has been low. \r\n\r\nWe are changing that.\r\n\r\nHaving built the girls team from 5 to 24 players and the boys team from 4 to 18 players our focus is now on the youth. The purpose of the racquet club is to offer low cost entry into the sport by providing facilities, equipment, and expertise to Hanford youth and get them excited about the sport. Your donations have done that and more. I now have the very exciting opportunity to take this inaugural camp and grow them into tennis athletes. You have helped us tremendously and I thank you for that.","fullyFundedDate":1742157562332,"projectUrl":"project/bullpup-racquet-club-summer-camp/9161858/","projectTitle":"Bullpup Racquet Club Summer Camp","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Rodriguez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4685097"},{"teacherId":10010096,"projectId":9303521,"letterContent":"The aprons you helped Salad Bowl get will be used this coming school year.
