My 6th–8th graders were immediately excited, and the space already feels calmer and more inviting. Several students commented that the space felt calmer and more welcoming, and many were eager to try the flexible seating during independent work. The flexible seating and sensory tools are helping students manage stress and stay focused.\r\n\r\nYour donation has not only provided helpful materials—it has created a safer, more supportive environment for my students. We immediately put our new resource to use by launching a \"Math Game Station Week,\" where students rotated through stations using printed fraction dominoes, decimal war cards, and integer puzzles. One of my favorite moments was watching a student who usually struggles with confidence proudly explain a strategy to her group during a game of Place Value Race. For the first time this year, she said, \"I get this now!\" Moments like that remind me this project truly matters.\r\n\r\nBefore this, I often had to limit the number of handouts, practice sheets, and math games I created so we wouldn't run out of paper. But now my students have daily access to interactive learning materials, exit tickets, review games, and group activities that strengthen understanding. When my students first saw the colorful math choice board packets printed for their teams, many of them said, \"Wow, we're doing real projects now!\" They immediately began asking when we could do more group games and math challenges.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, we're now able to continue building engaging math learning experiences. Our next step is to begin a \"Math Escape Room Challenge,\" where students will solve multi-step word problems and logic puzzles to unlock clues around the classroom. The copy paper allows me to create individualized packets for small groups so every student has what they need to be successful. Your generosity didn't just supply a classroom — it energized it, and it has made learning more accessible for all of my students. Thank you for believing in them and investing in their success.","fullyFundedDate":1759183045690,"projectUrl":"project/highlighting-math-success/9714157/","projectTitle":"Highlighting Math Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mattson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9027584_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1685664108637","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9027584"},{"teacherId":9027584,"projectId":9451779,"letterContent":"When my students first saw the new colored pencils and Trouble board games, their faces lit up with excitement. They were more eager than normal to dive into the materials and couldn't wait to see how they would be used in our math lessons. The vibrant colored pencils immediately inspired them to make their math work more creative and colorful, and the games sparked a lot of curiosity and enthusiasm.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the colored pencils during math centers and group projects, especially for creating visual models and graphs. It has helped my students show their thinking in fun, engaging ways and given them a sense of pride in their work. The Trouble board games have been a hit for practicing number sense and counting skills—students take turns rolling the dice, moving their pieces, and solving quick math challenges along the way.\r\n\r\nNext, we plan to use these materials in a math review project where students will design their own math board games using the colored pencils to create the boards and cards. The excitement these resources have brought into our classroom has truly made learning more joyful and interactive. The math games have become an essential part of our daily routine, serving as engaging warm-ups that allow all students to enter at their own levels. For example, during a recent lesson, we utilized the tangrams to explore how various shapes can combine to create composite figures. This hands-on activity not only made the concepts of area and perimeter more accessible but also sparked lively discussions among students as they collaborated to solve problems.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first encountered the materials, their excitement was contagious. They eagerly examined the 3D models, which played a crucial role in helping them visualize what a 3D net looks like. This visual aid allowed them to effectively label the sides of each 2D shape within the net, turning a complex topic into a manageable one. The manipulatives have transformed their learning experience, enabling them to engage with abstract concepts in a tangible way. \r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to build on these foundational skills through collaborative projects that challenge students to apply what they've learned in creative ways. For instance, we will be designing our own geometric structures using the materials, which will further deepen their understanding and application of math concepts. Your contributions truly make a difference in our classroom, and I am excited to share these moments with you!","fullyFundedDate":1742922663235,"projectUrl":"project/ready-set-go-games-math-and-more-ga/9168152/","projectTitle":"Ready!
