In addition to the more flexible seating options, I set up a floor table at the front of the room, and arranged everything in a sort of amphitheater shape. The kids love it. Having the freedom to move around the room or in their own zone during lessons gives them agency over their learning experience. Being able to wiggle and wobble around without causing disruptions because of the flexible furniture has improved general classroom engagement and participation, and I'd even go as far as to say it has helped with knowledge retention in turn.\r\nWords cannot describe how grateful I am to the donors who made this happen for us. Now, the kids in lower grades are begging to be in my class next year. Because of you! Thank you to the strangers who donated, and especially those I know personally who have supported me on my journey to becoming a teacher. You have all helped make my first year teaching exactly what I'd hoped it would be.
