This investment has been a magnificent boon to our classroom environment.\r\n\r\nThe new rewards have been an extremely motivating incentive for students working toward our various classroom goals. For example, one goal we set was to achieve has been 100% attendance, which is now happening much more frequently! To celebrate this collective success, students earned marbles in our jar, which led to a class party. I was also able to share stress balls with every student to commemorate their efforts and generate excitement for the new treasure chest items.\r\n\r\nAs we do each year, students are collaboratively setting individual academic and behavioral goals with me. However, having a highly desired reward available after giving solid, on-task effort has significantly increased their motivation and engagement.\r\n\r\nI also want to highlight the wonderful \"by-product benefit\" of the silent fidgets.
