Our materials came in just in time for the beginning of our new school year. Our \"Feelings Journals\" are wonderful. Students circle the icon that shows how they feel. Then they draw a picture that goes with how they are feeling. Next, they dictate or try to write a story to go with the drawing. The multicultural \"People Colors\" included in the project have so many beautiful tones for students to use to draw themselves. \r\n\r\nToday our youngest student turned four years old. She was able to celebrate by making her own Birthday crown with from one of the blank crowns that were included in this project. She creatively decorated it with paint, sequins, and pompoms. Tomorrow she will be writing in her \"Feelings Journal\" about her Birthday. The rainbow rug in front of our classroom sink is also cheerfull and makes our classroom much safer.\r\n Students are each choosing one of large people cutouts included in this project and decorationg them to represent themselves. They will look amaizing when they are finished and put up on the walls. Having a creature for each letter of the alphabet also gives my students a fun way to learn letters. \r\n We have been weaving the books science subject matter into our ocean unit through songs, Art and other readings about the ocean. Next they draw a picture to reflect how they feel and dictate what their picture is all about.\r\n\r\nEach student also picked out a multi-cultural body cut-out to use to make their own mini-me. They all came out so cute. Each one reflects the the unique personality of the student who made it.
