We were gifted with multiple sets of books, which helped foster curiosity and aid in acquiring reading comprehension skills! Gaining those skills is extremely crucial in learning how to read fluently. So, I was more than elated to be able to present my students with those new materials.\r\n\r\nI received my beautiful cardboard box of goodies after school and immediately began to unbox everything. I laid them all out and waited til the next day, so my students could embark in the excitement of it all. The next day definitely didn't disappoint!\r\n\r\nUpon entering the classroom the next day, my students all gazed in the direction of these mysterious boxes! We chose certain books to read in our small reading groups. My students were so excited and felt so empowered to be able to read books that their peers were reading. As a teacher, it was a fantastic way for me to check their understanding of the material. It really gave them the confidence and boost they needed to believe in themselves.\r\n\r\nAfter so much practice, we took our quizzes on the computers. Needless to say, they all passed!
