I let them chose where they get to play each day and this is always a center that students want to be at. They love to listen to the stories, change to a new Tonie and sing songs with the musical Tonies. A fan favorite is the sea turtle which gives lots of fun facts about sea turtles which is very exciting to see kids interested in non-fiction topics. Another fan favorite are the Pete the Cat Tonies since he is a character we are familiar with and love. \r\n\r\nThe students were so happy to see what the Tonie Box was all about. One student has his own at home and he was able to be our expert in how to use it and taught the rest of the class how to manage the different parts. We are already looking forward to using PTA funds to get more Tonies if the opportunity arises throughout the year. \r\n\r\nMy hope is that this new tool is something that sparks an interest in reading and books in my students. Reading is one way to open up our children's imaginations and bring to life many worlds that some may never experience outside of a book. I hope each of my students are getting an introduction to how wonderful reading and literature is and how it enriches their life in more ways than one.
