Thanks to your contributions, my students have had the opportunity to engage in hands-on, interactive learning experiences that have truly deepened their understanding of scientific concepts. The cow eyeball dissection and synthetic blood typing kits have sparked excitement and curiosity in the classroom, allowing my students to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.\r\n\r\nDuring the cow eyeball dissection, students were fascinated as they carefully examined the structures of the eye, from the cornea to the retina, and related each part to its function in the process of vision. Many students had never before seen the anatomy of an eye up close, and their reactions ranged from awe to genuine excitement. They were able to apply their classroom lessons about the eye in a way that was both engaging and meaningful. Similarly, with the synthetic blood typing kit, students practiced forensic science techniques, identifying blood types and learning about genetics and inheritance. This hands-on experiment brought the concepts they had studied to life in a way they will remember for years to come.\r\n\r\nThank you for being an essential part of their educational journey.","fullyFundedDate":1737086636519,"projectUrl":"project/help-bring-biology-to-life-support-our/9030268/","projectTitle":"Help Bring Biology to Life: Support Our Hands-On Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Roussel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7882358_orig.jpg?crop=2519,2519,x51,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1641777957090","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msroussel"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_4756","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":878,"numTeachers":55,"percentFrplEligible":67,"percentAsian":8,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":85,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"16.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":78.8,"schoolId":4756,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about James Lick High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"James Lick High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/east-side-union-high-school-district/james-lick-high-school/4756"}
