Every Monday morning, students rush to check their account balances and see their weekly \"paychecks\" they earned from finishing assignments, good behavior, and doing their classroom jobs. One super cool moment happened when Sarah, a student who usually had trouble staying organized, figured out she'd saved up enough classroom money over three weeks to buy multiple treats everyone wanted from our class store. Seeing her face light up as she counted out her earnings and made that smart purchase was incredible – she'd actually learned about waiting for what you want and planning your money the right way.\r\nWhen students first got their personalized checkbooks the whole classroom went crazy with excitement. Everyone started figuring out how much they could make and what they wanted to save up for, while others began planning which classroom jobs paid the best. Having real-looking money and actual banking stuff made everything feel legit and important. Students who never cared about math before suddenly got into calculating percentages for their \"savings accounts\" and keeping track of what they spent – and they actually enjoyed it!\r\nMoving forward, our big classroom project has students making full monthly budgets that include their classroom \"rent,\" supply costs, and what they want to spend money on. We're also starting a \"credit system\" where students can learn about borrowing money the right way and understanding interest rates. A bunch of students want to start their own classroom businesses, which will teach them about being entrepreneurs while managing money. Your support didn't just give us cool tools to make learning fun and real – it's given our students practical skills they'll use in real life, from budgeting in college to paying for their first apartments and way beyond.","fullyFundedDate":1747071820993,"projectUrl":"project/manage-your-money-in-our-classroom-econo/9107559/","projectTitle":"Manage Your Money in Our Classroom Economy","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Robledo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9920683_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1739216351770","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9920683"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_89674","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":485,"numTeachers":23,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":13,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":83,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"21.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":89674,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bryant Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bryant Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/dos-palos-oro-lomas-joint-usd/bryant-middle-school/89674"}
