My kids are having a blast during the winter months. There is something about being able to have a meaningful Physical Education during those winter months that the kids really appreciate. To set the stage a little we only get 20 minutes in the gym on our own during the rainy months. I have nesting tables in my classroom so being able to push all those to the side and set up our balance boards makes all the difference for helping my kids get the wiggles out. We have so many different kids asking to try chess, checkers and mancala, and working to learn the rules and how to play! So far each and every game has been a big hit throughout our library sessions and even occasionally after school! The teaching sets have already done wonders for helping the students to understand how chess pieces move so that they can play the game and begin to learn basic strategies.
