The large Post-it posters have been especially valuable in supporting our cross-curricular and grade-level medical pathway project, allowing students to visually organize, share, and connect their ideas in a highly interactive way. These posters have transformed group work into a more dynamic and creative process, making it easier for students to communicate complex concepts and see how their work fits into the bigger picture of our pathway focus.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the donated pipe cleaners have already enriched our hands-on projects, such as the skin tissue box models, where students were able to creatively represent and reinforce their understanding of anatomical structures. These materials not only deepen comprehension but also make learning more tangible and enjoyable. The dissection maps have been another invaluable tool, ensuring that students can approach heart dissections with confidence and clarity. By guiding them through each step, these maps support smoother lab experiences and allow students to focus more on the anatomy and less on procedural confusion. Altogether, these resources have enhanced both the rigor and accessibility of our classroom activities, creating more meaningful and memorable learning experiences for every student.","fullyFundedDate":1496427816254,"projectUrl":"project/supplies-for-stem/2583431/","projectTitle":"Supplies For STEM","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Griffith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3980433_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1479334532238","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3980433"},{"teacherId":9805260,"projectId":9497037,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity through DonorsChoose, our Wellness Center has become a calm, welcoming space that truly meets the needs of my students. Because of you, I've been able to add comfortable seating, sensory tools, mindfulness activities, and educational materials that help students build coping skills and emotional regulation strategies they will carry with them for life.\r\n\r\nThe impact is already clear. My students gravitate toward the weighted lap pad and stuffed animals for comfort, and they love using the floor pads to sit together, relax, and play games—turning the space into a supportive community as well as a place to recharge.\r\n\r\nYour gift has turned the Zen Zone from an idea into a daily source of comfort, connection, and growth for my middle schoolers. Because of your support, I was able to provide every one of my RSP students with their own set of headphones. This may sound simple, but it's made a huge difference. No longer do they have to share headphones or bring ones from home that might not work with our school Chromebooks. Now, every student has access to the tools they need—every single day.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, technology is woven into daily instruction. Students use programs like EdPuzzle to watch videos and answer comprehension questions, practice listening skills by transcribing sentences they hear, and even use music to help them focus while working independently. With their own headphones, they can engage fully in these activities without distractions or disruptions. It's helping them build independence, sharpen their focus, and feel more confident in their learning.\r\nHaving their own headphones makes them feel equipped and empowered. They love being able to choose music that helps them concentrate or dive into interactive lessons without worrying about compatibility or sharing. It's a small shift that's had a big impact on their enthusiasm.\r\nOne student who's usually hesitant to participate has really taken to our listening activities. With her own headphones, she's more engaged and even volunteers to share her answers aloud. Another student who struggles with sensory distractions now uses calming music to stay focused—and his productivity has soared. These moments remind me how meaningful your support truly is.\r\n\r\nWe couldn't have done this without you. My students were so excited to see the variety of healthy snacks that were donated to us and have the ability to try new snacks that they might not have had before.
