Art supplies like the ones donated have become essential tools during individual and group counseling sessions. By integrating art into our mental health programming, we've empowered students to explore their feelings in a non-verbal, healing way. These resources are helping us reach students who may struggle to articulate their emotions and instead find solace and clarity through creative expression.\r\n\r\nOne unforgettable moment happened during our \"self regulation group\". Students were asked to engage in sharing about their feelings and reflect on the theme empathy and bullying while utilizing art to it. \r\n\r\nAs we whine down the school year, we will continue to work with student on positive growth, saying goodbye and setting goals for next school year. From the snacks that fill my student's bellies when they are hungry to using them as incentives to improve their desired behavior, they have truly enjoyed them. Students have walked in my office to let out a \"wow this is awesome\" from seeing the snacks available to them.\r\nStudents have been able to utilize the self-regulating tools that we obtained. There is something for everyone. One of the favorites is the Peace Pets as when students are having a hard day, they come in grab a seat and place the Peace Pet on their body which they describe as a big hug. \r\nWe have been able to provide students with some of the self-regulation tools to take and have with them throughout the day to help them with their self-regulation.
