Your kindness and support mean so much to our students and our learning community. The new supplies have brought so much excitement to our classroom and have given our youngest learners the tools they need to explore, create, and grow.\r\n\r\nWith your help, our students are practicing writing letters, numbers, and shapes every day. The colorful markers, journals, and learning tools make writing and drawing fun, while helping the children build fine motor skills and confidence. These materials are helping our students strengthen their understanding of the alphabet and number concepts in meaningful, hands-on ways.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for your generosity and for believing in the importance of early education. Your donation has made a lasting impact on our classroom and on each child's learning journey. The children love to see themselves represented in the storybooks they read in class. Everyone of my students loves these books. They represent a variety of students in the class. This gives the children a sense of identity and voice in the classroom. The books are so fantastic. Many provide both English and another language in the text. I love to read them aloud to the children and also repeat the text in another language as well.\r\n\r\nAnother wonderful toy we received in this package was two sets of multicultural dolls. I kept one set for my TK class and gifted the other set to the other TK classroom so that all children could see these little children that looked like them in our classroom. The first day we received the dolls we took the dolls around the room and playground and taught them the rules of our school. This is so important as the dolls give the children a voice in learning the rules of the school. In addition to this we learned how to play safely with these dolls and by treating the dolls with respect we learn to treat each other with respect. \r\nThe TK students have made doll houses for the dolls, bedrooms, played with them in the playhouse area and told the dolls abou their day. It's so amazing how much language is expressed with the type of toys and books that represent the children and make them feel ownership in the classroom and school. Thank you for being part of the children's growth and learning environment.","fullyFundedDate":1746787054878,"projectUrl":"project/you-belong-here/9229050/","projectTitle":"You Belong Here!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Shapiro","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp582754_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y1008&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1659641873876","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/582754"},{"teacherId":582754,"projectId":9162816,"letterContent":"I want to thank you for the wonderful supplies for my TK/K students this year. We were able to create an entire writing center with all the supplies that were donated. The students would chose to go to this center every week and create beautiful drawings, stories and letters to share with their family and friends. They really became authors and would show so much pride in their work. \r\n\r\nEach child had their own journal where they would draw and write their stories. These journals were proudly displayed when we would have schoolwide walk throughs and when families visited our classrooms. The parents were amazed at the end of the year when they were able to take home all the supplies and encourage their child to continue writing at home. The children had crayons that represented them and their families. They had plenty of markers and paints and a variety of paper to use to create beautiful cards and stories. \r\nThis is so meaningful for the children Your generosity helped each child become an author in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1742909902508,"projectUrl":"project/fun-at-school/9162816/","projectTitle":"Fun At School","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Shapiro","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp582754_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y1008&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1659641873876","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/582754"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_28034","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":576,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":24,"percentAsian":60,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":8,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":20,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"30.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":89.8,"schoolId":28034,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Los Coyotes Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Los Coyotes Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/centralia-elementary-school-district/los-coyotes-elementary-school/28034"}
