Thanks to generous donors like you, this vital pathway will continue to expand, much like the yellow brick road in Oz, leading young minds to new adventures, new ideas, and new possibilities.\r\n\r\nIn a time when library funding is increasingly stretched thin, we, the lovers of books and champions of literacy, must find innovative and creative ways to ensure our students have access to the stories they need. Graphic novels do more than entertain—they build literacy skills, improve comprehension, and create an inclusive space for diverse voices and perspectives. From reluctant readers who finally see themselves in a book to avid readers who devour every new story, these books have a profound impact.\r\n\r\nYour generosity is more than a financial contribution; it is a direct investment in the future of our students. With your support, our shelves will be filled with much-loved books that spark curiosity and foster a love of learning. Each donated book represents an opportunity—an opportunity for a child to discover the joy of reading, to see their experiences reflected in a story, or to embark on an adventure they never imagined.\r\n\r\nFor many students, the library is more than a place to check out books; it is a refuge, a gateway to knowledge, and a source of inspiration. It is where they can explore new worlds, meet unforgettable characters, and learn about perspectives beyond their own. Your donation ensures that this space remains rich with opportunities for exploration and growth.\r\n\r\nWe are deeply grateful for your generosity and your belief in the power of books to change lives. Because of donors like you, we can continue to provide our students with the stories that matter to them—stories that will make them laugh, think, dream, and, most importantly, read. Thank you for being a part of this journey and for helping us keep our library's shelves stocked with books that our students will cherish.","fullyFundedDate":1741129380014,"projectUrl":"project/project-proposal-refreshing-our-well-lo/9076444/","projectTitle":"Project Proposal: Refreshing Our Well-Loved Graphic Novel Collection","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gatzka","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5446010_orig.jpg?crop=1430,1430,x0,y19&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741127338729","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5446010"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_66931","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":611,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":58,"percentAsian":16,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":25,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":46,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"22.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":72.9,"schoolId":66931,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Norman Liddell Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Norman Liddell Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/central-unified-school-district/norman-liddell-elementary-school/66931"}
