I did not receive the math manipulatives until Mid May of last year. So this school years 3rd grade class got the treat of using brand new math manipulatives. \r\n\r\nI shared with them all about Donors Choose and how the non profit helps kind people and businesses connect with classroom teachers who may need materials for their classrooms. By you helping fund this project, it has brought math joy into our math centers. The six games are played almost daily. The students enjoy them so much that when they are given free time, where they can build Legos, have tech time etc. Many will still choose the math games. It has especially helped our newcomers, by providing them with engaging math games which help them practice English math vocabulary.\r\n\r\nThe Magnetic Base ten teaching set has helped reinforce the idea that numbers are composed of different place values. By moving pieces rather than just writing numbers this has helped my kinesthetic learners grasp concepts more effectively.
