Here are some ways that we are currently using our new resources you have provided. The smiley face rug allows us to have all students in one place during read alouds. Students love to choose their favorite color to sit on during the read aloud time! Another new resource that we use and love is the magnetic building blocks. Students use these when they are needing a little SEL reset I need something to calm their mind and focus their attention. Students also love to use these during fun Friday, which allows them to do something creative and productive while also fun! \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw all of the new stuff that was provided, they were extremely excited to get to using it. The rug was a big hit every student wanted to sit on it throughout the day. Students love the sentence building packet because it is tangible and helps them to see their writing before they even pick up a pencil. They love that the sentence building allows them a new rotation in reading groups and a fun way too learn sentence building skills! Students utilize all of these materials on a daily basis, and it has truly enhanced their learning and their excitement about learning in the classroom.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSome of the next steps that we are taking is to have our students participate and read aloud instead of just the teacher reading. For example, I will pick a student and the student will pick a book and they will read it aloud to the class as if they were the teacher, while all of the students are sitting on the smiley rug. This is another way that this rug has truly engaged our classroom and learning. In the meantime, I will be passing out the snacks that were provided by donors so students can have a snack while listening.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThank you again for your contribution.
