They frequently use our gym for games for the surrounding youth. It is wonderful to have something provide weighted sensory support to help calm some of my most energetic students without them even realizing they are using a tool to provide support.\r\n\r\nThe sensory pod has been such an amazing tool to add to the room for some of my students who need a big \"squeeze\" throughout the day. In addition, the purchase of extra wobble stools has helped create a safer and more regulated classroom space. With a total of ten stools now available, there is no longer a sense of competition among students to access seating that meets their needs. From the first day I set up the wobble stools, students asked to use them. It's easy for them to swap out a chair with a wobble stool when they need it, and it has increased overall focus and greatly reduced the \"chair tipping\" issue. Students love the wobble stools so much, I think I may have to get more in the future! \r\n\r\nI attached the wobble feet onto my regular classroom chairs that we use in our \"audience area\" of the classroom. When teaching theater, we have to take turns playing games and performing, and traditionally this has been a challenge with students who have trouble giving calm focus and attention when it is not their turn to be on stage. With the introduction of the wobble feet, I have seen my students more easily able to focus on what's happening on stage. It's an easier transition for kids to and they are able to get their wiggles out while they're waiting or watching their peers perform. \r\n\r\nOverall, the flexible seating has been an amazing addition to the class. It has helped with student focus, reduced behavior issues, and helped all of my students with sensory needs so they can learn and do their best. I hope to incorporate more stools and flexible seating options in the future!
