When all of the board games first arrived to our site, I was filled with excitement. When the students first saw the new board games they were shocked and surprised. We have had the same board games for a long time now. The students have used the board games so much that the boxes are worn out, some pieces are missing, and they are just not appealing to the students anymore. Their faces lit up as soon as they saw new games to enjoy with their friends.\r\n\r\n As soon as the new games were put on the board game shelf, they began to play them. It is an amazing thing to see their smiles and hear their laughs. The donations have truly provided a space of relaxation for students to clear their minds of the hardships of school work, exams, and classes. Every morning I see the students' tired and worn out faces when they arrive on campus. When lunch and snack came around and they saw the board games, those worn out faces filled with excitement and enthusiasm. These board given students something to look forward to when they come to school each day. Now as students come into the library for lunch and snack, they go straight to our board game shelf, some students even run there. \r\n\r\nOne moment in particular that I enjoyed watching since getting the donations was seeing a student approach a group of friends playing a game and start a conversation about the particular game that was being played. These board games are not only providing a fun experience for the students, but are also helping them build on their social skills with all their classmates and friends. We will forever be grateful for the amazing donation that you have contributed to our school library. Your donations have truly changes the daily lives of our students for the better.","fullyFundedDate":1734459153878,"projectUrl":"project/mental-break-in-the-library/8805300/","projectTitle":"Mental Break In The Library","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Vargas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9767030"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_91652","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":919,"numTeachers":35,"percentFrplEligible":20,"percentAsian":33,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":22,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":37,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 9","studentTeacherRatio":"26.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":91.8,"schoolId":91652,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Brea Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Brea Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/brea-olinda-unified-school-district/brea-junior-high-school/91652"}
