Because of your kindness, my students now have composition notebooks, scissors, and a laminator—resources that have already transformed the way we learn, create, and interact in our classroom community.\r\nThe composition notebooks have become the centerpiece of our learning. We are using them as interactive notebooks, where students cut, glue, write, and organize information in ways that make their learning personal and hands-on. For example, in math, students add foldables and charts that help them review key strategies. In reading, they create vocabulary pages and graphic organizers that let them reflect on the stories we study. The notebooks are becoming a portfolio of their progress, and the students love having a resource they can look back on and say, \"I made this.\"\r\nThe scissors you provided are a constant tool in our daily routine. While they are essential for building our interactive notebooks, they've also opened the door to creative projects that make lessons memorable. Whether it's cutting shapes for math games, trimming pieces for a science poster, or working on seasonal crafts, my students use them with excitement. Having enough scissors for everyone means that no student is left waiting, which keeps the momentum of our projects strong and helps the whole class stay engaged.\r\nThe laminator has been an incredible addition. It has allowed me to create long-lasting resources that students use every single day. Anchor charts, vocabulary cards, math reference tools, and even classroom jobs have all been laminated, making them durable and reusable. When my students first saw the laminator at work, they were amazed. They loved watching a piece of paper transform into something sturdy and \"professional-looking.\" This simple tool has made them feel proud of their work and given them a sense of ownership over the classroom. Laminated materials have also encouraged my students to handle resources with more care because they see how valuable they are.\r\nOne of my favorite moments came when students used their interactive notebooks during a review activity. I noticed how quickly they turned to the pages they had built, how confident they were using them, and how proud they felt flipping through a book filled with their own work. These small but powerful moments remind me how much of an impact your donation has had.\r\nLooking ahead, our next steps involve continuing to expand our interactive notebooks as living portfolios of learning. We will keep adding foldables, reflections, and notes throughout the year. The laminated tools will support this work by giving students strong reference materials they can return to again and again. The scissors will continue to allow them to create, design, and bring their ideas to life.\r\nYour support has not only provided supplies but also opened doors to creativity, independence, and pride in learning. On behalf of my students and myself, thank you for believing in us and investing in our classroom. Your generosity has truly made our space brighter, more organized, and more engaging.\r\nWith gratitude,\r\n Ms. Flores","fullyFundedDate":1750182100487,"projectUrl":"project/2025-2026-essentials/9405223/","projectTitle":"2025-2026 Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Flores","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10053092_orig.jpg?crop=950,950,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749513320814","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10053092"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_63176","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":83,"numTeachers":6,"percentFrplEligible":49,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":49,"percentLatinx":42,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":63176,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Vivian Banks Charter School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Vivian Banks Charter School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/bonsall-unified-school-district/vivian-banks-charter-school/63176"}
