These devices have begun and will truly transformed the way our students, all of whom are nonverbal, learn to communicate. Through interactive applications designed to support functional communication, students are now learning how to express their wants, needs, and emotions with greater independence. This technology is not only helping them access their voices, but it is also building confidence and reducing frustration, creating more meaningful connections with their peers, teachers, and families.\r\n\r\nWithout being able to ask and receive feedback, I can say from observing the students when they use the iPads, what I believe excites them about the iPads is the immediate feedback and the ability to control their environment through their communication. For many of our learners, being able to touch a symbol or picture and hear it spoken aloud appears to be an empowering experience. The vibrant visuals, interactive features, and engaging sounds capture their attention and sustain focus in ways that traditional tools cannot. The iPads have turned moments of silence into opportunities for students to participate, advocate for themselves, and engage in classroom routines with joy and enthusiasm.\r\n\r\nOne student, in particular, has embraced this technology in a remarkable way. Previously, they struggled to let staff know when they were hungry and needed a diaper change, often leading to moments of frustration. With the iPad you provided, they can now tap a simple icon to request a snack, ask for help, or choose an activity. Their pride is visible each time they successfully communicate, as this skill is further strengthening social interactions. Stories like theirs are becoming more common, and it is all thanks to your generosity. Your support has opened doors for our students that will have a lasting impact on their education and quality of life.","fullyFundedDate":1746786478892,"projectUrl":"project/empower-vulnerable-learners-ipads-for-c/9158514/","projectTitle":"Empower Vulnerable Learners: iPads for Communication and Independence in School","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Vinnie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9266043_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746797934765","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9266043"},{"teacherId":8430194,"projectId":8835428,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to my project. Our class not only created goodie bags for 24 patients, but also put a lot of time and effort into personalized drawings and letters.
