We have dived in deep with daily numerical activities and even conducted a math festival wherein students in the entire school participated in mathe related actiivities. Students got opportunities to have hands-on practice with materials that used representational math manipulatives and review their math foundation skills. \r\n\r\nStudents began working highly dependent on the manipulatives and now are more comfortable working with the manipulatives as more support than essential. They are learning to make personal connections to the characters and events in the stories. They are also learning to listen to each other's opinions and be engaged in meaningful discussions.\r\nMy students look forward to the time after lunch when we all come to the floor to read the next chapter of the book. They also get to complete some reading comprehension and vocabulary activities after each chapter.\r\nIt has been a joy of mine to see all students get excited to visit our school library and look for books that are in the same series and share with each other when they are finished reading the books.
