Many of my Kindergarteners have sensory, communication, and fine-motor needs, so having hands-on, accessible resources has truly transformed our learning environment. I'll never forget the moment one student—who typically avoids table tasks—quietly sat down and began sorting our new counting bears with so much focus and pride. Another used the magnetic pieces to build their name for the very first time. These small victories are powerful reminders of why these materials matter.\r\n\r\nWe now use the resources daily across our structured SDC routines. The calm-down tools have strengthened our \"Calm Corner,\" giving students a safe space to practice regulation with visual supports and sensory options. During literacy and math centers, students use the manipulatives to build letters, retell stories, count, sort, and strengthen their fine-motor skills. These tools make learning feel engaging, accessible, and joyful—especially for students who benefit from multisensory instruction. Their reactions have been everything from huge smiles to excited \"Can I try it?\" moments.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, my students now have materials that support their academic, social, and emotional growth every day. As we move into new units, we will continue using these resources to work toward IEP goals, increase center independence, and build confidence through hands-on learning. You didn't just donate items—you invested in my students' success. From my heart, and from all of Room 19, thank you for helping us create a classroom where every child can thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1756663362330,"projectUrl":"project/help-my-kinder-class-grow-learn-throug/9658991/","projectTitle":"Help My Kinder Class Grow & Learn Through Hands On","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lopez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6854554_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743824746486","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6854554"},{"teacherId":994942,"projectId":8547252,"letterContent":"Thank you is not enough to express my gratitude for your amazing generosity. The joy and happiness was so fun to see . When I took out the puzzle and I told them they would get to work on it they all cheered. It was so sweet !! I also showed them the felt board and we traded off using the puzzles and the solar system felt board. During our designated ELD time this is one of the centers they got to go to. They worked with their group to either work on the solar system or they did the puzzle. A lot of language and vocabulary, and working together was happening . This is what we want to see, the benefits will show up in their writing. We also used the paper to make our astronauts and moons. It was so helpful to have the paper . Thank you thank you thank you for a truly one of a kind experience . Next step will be to make our sun and write about it using the construction paper. Last, for our culmination project we are going to visit the planetarium for a field trip .
