All of the items received have been impactful, but the ChompSaw was the most anticipated item in the grant. There were ooohs and ahhhs at the unboxing. We will be making holiday wreaths with the ChompSaw this week. Students will learn the skills and safety of the machine, by creating a cardboard wreath. Once students have mastered some basic skills, then they will be making a human design project, the Perfect Pencil Holder, for another student in class. \r\n\r\nThis grant also supplied our class with many other supplies. Other helpful items received were supplies for our landslide tables, additional Battle of the Books novels to add to our classroom, and materials for our scavenger hunt field trip to Mission San Antonio de Padua. First, we created landslides in class during our Earth Science unit. This experience let students engineer their model's landscaping to protect a home on a cliff. It was an exciting way to end our science unit. Second, The Battle of the Books adds new titles to their list every year, so it is helpful to have the new copies in my classroom library. Third, every winter we visit a rural mission and explore the grounds in small groups. This grant supplied small notebooks and pencils to gather drawings and clues from our scavenger hunt. All of these items make my classroom engaging and memorable.","fullyFundedDate":1757026160352,"projectUrl":"project/build-it/9542448/","projectTitle":"Build It","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. B.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4400913_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1491018054352","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4400913"},{"teacherId":478323,"projectId":9057841,"letterContent":"We strive to teach students phonics so that they are able to decode words. These stools have significantly improved the flow of the room, creating an inviting and functional area where learning and engagement can thrive.\r\n\r\nThe impact of this change has been incredible. Approximately 120 students use this space daily, and they were thrilled to see the positive transformation in their classroom.
