Thanks to your kindness, my Kindergarten students now have their very own writing journals and folders, and what a difference these resources have made in our daily learning.\r\nEach afternoon, as my students take out their colorful journals and folders, there's an energy of excitement that fills the room. These journals have quickly become one of our favorite parts of the day. We use them daily to practice writing, draw illustrations, and express our growing thoughts in words and pictures. The folders have become a key part of our \"writing toolkit,\" holding our irregular word lists, handwriting guidelines, and checklists that remind us to do our best writing. It's amazing to see five- and six-year-olds so proud to use their materials responsibly and independently!\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students have been able to strengthen their writing fluency and confidence in such a short time. I've already noticed incredible progress in their handwriting, letter formation, and understanding of grammar conventions. Many of my students are now using spaces between words, punctuation, and even trying to spell new words on their own. These are all skills that will support them far beyond Kindergarten. The resources you helped provide have truly elevated our writing lessons and made our daily practice both structured and inspiring.\r\n\r\nIt's been so heartwarming to see how much ownership my students take over their learning. They love flipping through their journals to see how their writing has improved since the beginning of the year, and they beam with pride when they share their pages with classmates or visitors. The folders have also helped them stay organized and have become a safe place for all their writing sentences. \r\n\r\nThese journals and folders have not only helped build foundational writing skills but have also sparked creativity, confidence, and joy. The impact has been both academic and emotional and it's all thanks to you. Your generosity has provided the tools my students need to feel like real writers, and that sense of pride and possibility is truly priceless.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of my entire Kindergarten class, thank you so much for believing in our little learners. You have helped create a classroom environment where every child feels capable, supported, and excited to learn. We are so grateful for your kindness and for making such a meaningful difference in our learning journey.","fullyFundedDate":1755999082809,"projectUrl":"project/from-scribbles-to-stories-kinder-writin/9509136/","projectTitle":"From Scribbles to Stories: Kinder Writing Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ryan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10008656_orig.png?crop=160,160,x0,y6&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753746375225","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10008656"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_30607","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":365,"numTeachers":17,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":9,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":74,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"21.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":84.1,"schoolId":30607,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Willow Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Willow Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/abc-unified-school-district/willow-elementary-school/30607"}
