In library specials class, we have a class set of iPads with several subscription and learning apps that we utilize to meet students of all learning levels. Previously, we have had a handful of headphones that may not be fully functional.\r\n\r\nThe students have been enjoying using our new, shiny, working headphones! So far we have been able to use them for research apps, such as PebbleGo and Capstone, as well as for audiobooks to practice reading on grade-level. In one of our English Language Development groups, students were able to individualize their learning by selecting their own nonfiction audiobook to research an animal. From there, they were able to create a graphic organizer presenting the information they learned.\r\n\r\nAnother group that has shown a great appreciation for the new resource was our third and fourth graders. Currently we are learning about digital citizenship. With these two grade-levels, the students are practicing what they are learning by solving clues on a website called BreakoutEDU. They are able to utilize the immersive reader tool by using the headphones! They are having so much fun while being able to individualize their support needed.","fullyFundedDate":1758546541091,"projectUrl":"project/tuning-in-headphones-for-individualize/9663089/","projectTitle":"Tuning In - Headphones for Individualized Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Laney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9814686_orig.jpg?crop=899,899,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1731594114631","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9814686"},{"teacherId":9092278,"projectId":9081317,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our project. Our students have used the resources to perform at school assemblies. They have been \"the hit of the assemblies!\" You can hear a pin drop when they perform. They are so proud to be able to share their culture and traditions with the other students and staff members. Some parents have come to watch their children perform and others have reached out on our school Facebook page to support the students. \r\n When the students first saw the materials unpacked in the classroom, they cheered and clapped with great enthusiasm. They couldn't believe it! At every practice, they want to know when they get to perform again.\r\n Other students at the school have really taken an interest in the group. Our school is planning a \"club day\" for students to participate in different activities. Each week in our library's MakerSpace, a new game has been introduced. Students at those stations have had the opportunity to learn the new games, practice strategic thinking, and use their social skills while playing with their classmates. They have LOVED playing these new games!\r\n\r\nEach week when the students come to library specials and see MakerSpace stations, they get excited. But since receiving the new games from this project, they get even MORE excited! As a class we learn the new game and then take turns playing. They have particularly loved Battleship, Connect Four, Guess Who, and Close the Box. The others that were donated are planned to be learned and played soon in the next couple of weeks!\r\n\r\nWith snow days and other events, we haven't learned all of the games yet, but we have plans to roll them out in the next few MakerSpace rotations.
