Thanks to you, our class now has a beautiful world map rug that is already making a big impact, and we're only on the third day of school!\r\n\r\nJust yesterday, during our literacy lesson, we were reading The Wind in the Willows. As we talked about where the story takes place, one student asked, \"Where is the UK?\" That simple question led to an exciting moment. We all gathered around the new rug, and together, we located the United Kingdom. The students were thrilled to connect the story to a real place on the map. They thought it was so cool that we could \"travel\" to different parts of the world right from our classroom floor.\r\n\r\nThe reactions when students first walked in and saw the rug were priceless. Wide eyes, lots of pointing, and so many questions! It immediately sparked curiosity, conversation, and excitement about the world around them.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we plan to continue using the rug during literacy lessons to locate the settings of stories we read. It's become more than just a rug — it's a tool for exploration, discussion, and deeper learning. We'll also have a unit on Ancient Rome, and the rug will be a central part of how we understand where each story originates.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has truly helped bring the world closer to my students. Thank you for giving them the opportunity to explore geography in such a hands-on, meaningful way.
