The students are thrilled with these new tools they're able to use when creating their art. \r\n\r\nThe brand new Crayola markers provided by your donation are one of the most used and cherished items in our classroom. Most of our other markers had dried out, so the students were ecstatic about getting new markers to use that really work well. They have also been doing a great job of taking care of them since we put them out. \r\n\r\nOne of my older students' favorite centers is the inventor's workshop center. In this area they get to use their imagination and creativity to take old materials, such as boxes and paper towel tubes and turn them into anything they can imagine. However, we've had an issue in the past with students being able to cut through the cardboard boxes. So, I looked up solutions and several art teachers recommended trauma shears for this. These were provided using your generous donation and they have been a game changer for this beloved center, making creating things much more manageable. \r\n\r\nWith my younger grades I occasionally allow them to go to rotating centers, which include legos and play-doh. However, the play-doh dries out quickly and there weren't enough base plates for the legos. So, the addition of these materials have made rotating centers even more enjoyable for students and they are able to show their creativity and work on fine motor skills with more efficiency now. \r\n\r\nFinally, the new scissors have been such a blessing! Our old ones were starting to rust and looked pretty rough. They were also beginning to be difficult to use. So, the addition of the new scissors has made cutting paper much easier for those little hands!\r\n\r\nI greatly appreciate your investment in our art program!
