The first day I put them out on the shelf, I had two different students check out a book that they were interested in reading. One student brought it back just two days later, having finished it that quickly. \r\n\r\nI really enjoy that students have options of things to do when they are finished with their math work. I am really emphasizing not having cell phones out at all in class, and the more options of things I can give them to do when they're finished with independent work, the better. \r\n\r\nMy students have especially enjoyed the variety of books that were purchased. In my experience, girls tend to read more, but I've had multiple boys read several of these books. They've especially enjoyed the Goosebumps books!\r\n\r\nThank you again for your support and generosity! The students absolutely loved getting a break from doing pencil paper work and we genuinely enjoyed creating these pieces of math art together. \r\n\r\nIn introducing the project, we went over some vocabulary they should've already known and introduced some new words they'll be learning over the next year. By reinforcing the vocabulary throughout the course of creating the icosahedrons, we cemented the words and the meaning in a tangible way I know the kids will remember for years to come. \r\n\r\nThank you SO much for making this project come to life!
