The school I work at experiences students who have had minimal access to creativity and opportunity for expression. The confidence to overcome self-doubt is one of my main focuses in the classroom and I typically do this by encouraging three-dimensional, hands on, projects. \r\nAnother obstacle I face is lack of facilities and supplies. I do not have access to a kiln and have very little storage. Attempting to use clay in spite of these setbacks led me to Polymer clay. I bake every kid's project in my own oven, off contract hours. But it has been the saving grace to the constant question \"can we use clay, Ms. Mary?\" Polymer clay is unfortunately also very expensive. \r\nThanks to your generosity, I was able to supply 2 art classes for clay projects last Fall and will be able to do so again for 3 more this Spring! It's a lot of baking I'm looking forward to, and it's when I see the most creative growth. You're helping them learn to solve problems and express themselves in a creative way, and I am so grateful to you for your help in that. From the bottom of my heart, this year and these projects have made a profound impact.","fullyFundedDate":1758849560027,"projectUrl":"project/polymer-clay-all-day/9397269/","projectTitle":"Polymer Clay All Day","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mary","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7640751_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1664587927848","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7640751"},{"teacherId":6335046,"projectId":9252901,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our Chemo Care Kit project at Future School of Fort Smith. Students also added handwritten notes to let recipients know they are not alone in their journey.\r\n\r\nThis project was not only a meaningful way to support cancer patients in our community, but also a powerful learning experience for our students.
