The glory of printmaking as an artform is you carve a plate one time and then can make multiple copies and students were able to share/trade their artwork with their peers. Next year we will definitely revisit this project,\r\n\r\nStudents loved learning the process of block printing and learned a lot about carving tools, making monoprints and the printmaking process as a whole. \r\n\r\nThis is the first year I've trusted high school students with linocutters and it was a joy to teach this medium - we did have a free papercut like injuries so my next grantbfor printmaking will definitely include some extra band-aids and gloves for kids who don't like the feeling of paint or ink on their hands.
